The Stretch Dreamliner for the Win

Just flew to London last week – on the way out it was on an older 777 plane (it feels weird to describe the triple-seven as an older plane, but there you go). On the way back, the plane was a brand new 787-9 – the stretch version of the beautiful 787 Dreamliner.
Let me just say that I am a fan. The larger screens and larger movie selection make the flight more enjoyable, and the pressurization of the plane really makes a difference in comfort.
With the arrival Monday of a British Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Austin is the first North American city to launch regular scheduled service of the jet, according to city officials. The 787-9 is a roomier, stretch version of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which the airliner had been using on the route.
The upgrade in planes just shows BA’s continued investment into the route to Austin, and shows that it is working. While the economy section was full, and premium economy less so, this might just point to tweaks in the pricing model necessary to entice more people to upgrade. This route is what allows us to maintain close relationship with our team in the UK, which we very much appreciate.
