#SXSW Featured Sessions: Christiane Amanpour and Kara Swisher

A highlight of the conference was the interview of Christiane Amanpour by Kara Swisher. Kara is the perfect foil for someone like Amanpour. She brings a certain friction and challenging tone to the conversation – not out of a lack of respect for her subject – but out of a need to elicit deeper answers to the questions of the day.

Christiane, of course, more than holds her own. Brushing off questions that get too personal, then coming back to them with insights from her travels, interviews, and experiences.  This sort of subject matter is far from my area of expertise in software and digital operations, but this is part of the magic of SXSW. It’s refreshing to see Amanpour on the other side of the interview for a change, as well – I could have watched another hour. The full video is embedded below:
