SXSW has a series of featured sessions that overall, have been getting better ever year. There have been many standouts over the year, but just the average quality overall keeps getting better.  If you have something to say, SXSW provides a great platform.

Featured sessions are also a nice way to interact with content outside your normal range, and get exposed to new ideas.

In this session, Alex Rodriguez talked about his third act (great coverage in the Austin Chronicle linked) – as a business person outside of baseball.  This session was clearly in partnership with CNBC – which has some great shows along the same subject line (our family are big fans of the Shark Tank and the Profit, as well as Jay’s Garage).  Alex’s show will focus on him helping former athletes get their financial lives together, starting with Joe Smith – a player I loved watching play in college and in the pros.  I can’t wait to see the episode.  What I love about these shows is that anyone who has traveled the entrepreneurial journey can relate to the ups and downs that are a necessary part of life. Unfortunately I don’t see the video posted for this one!
