Derek is one of the best advisers you could hope for in the BPM and advisory space. His recent post to his Forrester blog asks which mountain you are trying to climb.

He lists out several different business architecture efforts, and what mountains they are often trying to climb.  Not an exhaustive list, but a good one:  transformational change, removing post-M&A redundancy, reducing costs, enhancing customer experience, provide decision making context, reduce wait times for core operations.

This alignment of process to strategy is critical to your success as an organization.  (Incidentally, this is what BP Strategy, our new offering – details forthcoming- is about: helping you formulate your strategy and helping you align process design and execution around that strategy.  )
