This week the attention may be turned to World of Watson, but last week it was all about Digital Transformation and BPM: Process Transformation. James Taylor took a turn at blogging the Process Transformation event last week – an intimate event with IBM customers and partners and IBM executives.

First, Digital Transformation and the Business Process Imperative – coverage of Neil Ward-Dutton’s talk. The basic thesis is that the world is pulling companies into their component parts- but somehow we need to tie these digital threads together and deliver solutions to the front line of customer experience.  The “how” is of course, Business Process Management.

Second, Cognitive Business Operations Journey Best Practices.  The basic premise here is a “Bluemix Garage Method” based on lean startup, but applied to the technical domain of what’s available via BlueMix.  It was a nice departure from the usual IBM material, but I have to admit, if you’re following lean startup all these years this is very straightforward translation of that. Not a new method so much as adding IBM vernacular to the existing method, and then layering on Design Thinking (which was quite cool).

And finally, Transforming Business Operations One Decision at a Time – a talk by James Taylor himself!

Read James’ posts for the rest!

Our own thoughts on the event were published previously, here.
