I should thank John Lilly for pointing me to this blog post by Ben Bajarin - "What I love about Apple's Strategy".? What I love about the article is this part:
The broad claims that are made about what Apple should do are almost always based a round competitive reasons. [...] Apple has customers not competition. The decisions they make as a company are not based around what their competition is doing but around what is best for their customers. Like it or not, this is their strategy.
This is a fantastic discipline, if true.? Arrogant, maybe, but really effective at keeping you from chasing false goals and dead-ends (netbooks anyone?).
