Process, Recycling, and Conference Tables

We wanted something special for our conference table in our new office.  I knew just who I wanted to call – Bryan at Jobe Fabrications. I’d seen his work thanks to a friend, he manufactures everything local in Austin, and he has an eye for reclaimed wood and how to put it to good use in a second (or third) life.

After we explained what we were looking for, he gave us a few ideas… and we fell in love with one of them.  We wanted something to offset the sterile lines of a corporate office. Something that mixes old and new and has character.  Part of what I like about working with local shops is that you get visibility to the process.  The setbacks and victories.  The method behind the madness putting this table together, taking it apart, trucking it over here, and reassembling it is fascinating to me.  And the results are beautiful.

The old bowling alley this wood came out of may be gone, but the wood is going to good use.  Starting tomorrow at our weekly operations call…

Thanks to Bryan for producing such a beautiful conference table for us – we couldn’t be happier!
